The SHAKESPEARE DISCOVERY PROJECT
JULY 14 - 26th, 2025 (9 AM – 4 pm)

For youth, ages 12-18, who are seriously interested in learning the Craft of Acting, and the basics of Classical Theatre! Beginning in late March! The program begins with a “ MEET and GREET” for students, teachers, parents and staff, followed by (TBD) small group rehearsals (late March, April, May and June!) The two week “intensive” rehearsal/study period (July 14-26) will culminate in a free open to the public, staged reading, of a condensed version of “ ROMEO and JULIET” by William Shakespeare

Emma Bowers - Director

Emma Bowers is a Graduate of the Juilliard School’s Drama Division (BFA). Broadway and off-Broadway credits include: “Erica” Hold, Please, by Annie Weismann, The Working Theatre, World Premiere. “Leob’s Girlfriend” Never The Sinner, directed by Ethan McSweeny, The John Housman Theatre, American Premiere. “Charlotte Linscott” Sake With The Haiku Geisha by Randall David Cook, The Perry Street Theatre, American Premiere. “Peg” Fighting Words, by Sunil Kuru-Villa, Yale Repertory Theatre, World Premiere. “Mopsa” (opposite Michael Stuhlbarg’s “Young Shepherd”) and “Emilia”, The Winter’s Tale, The Public Theatre, Shakespeare In the Park (NYSSF) with Keith David and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor. Regional credits include: “Nadezhda” Family stories: Belgrade by Biliana Siblonovic, The Market Theater, American premiere. “Sister Carrie” in Sister Carrie, adapted by Charles Smith, directed by Andrew Tsao, The Indiana Repertory Theatre, World Premiere. “Gwendolyn Pigeon” The Odd Couple, The Pittsburgh Public Theatre.

TV and Indie credits include: Strangers with Candy, Comedy Central, “Rebecca” opposite Amy Sedaris and Alan Tudyk (recipient: Comedy Central Donkey Award “audience favorite guest star performance”) “Natalie” in Mom or Little Dreams in Big Hope, with Julie Goldman, written and directed by Erin Greenwell, Smithy Productions.

The “Shakespeare Discovery Project” is a program based on Emma’s training, at the Juilliard School. The Discovery Project Company’s final rehearsal project, a staged reading of “ Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, will be Emma’s Directing Debut
